BCRPA Approved Fitness Theory Training
This is the “base course” required to become a fitness instructor but is also a worthwhile course for those who wish to understand fitness principles and get more out of their own work outs.
Course Text (included in cost):
- Body Blueprint, Fitness Theory Manual (Truscott, C. Hardy, T)
Course Includes:
- Interactive learning
- 30 educational hours
Course Content:
- Introduction and developing a workout
- Energy systems & Cardiovascular system
- Skeletal anatomy
- Muscular anatomy
- Exercise risks, Sports injuries & treatments and Stress Management
- Nutrition, Diet & Exercise
- Strength and Flexibility
- Review and EXAM
Pre-requisite: Must be 16 years or older

Course includes:

This course is an overview of aging and physical activity for individuals who want to expand their fitness knowledge of working with the older adult. BCRPA Approved Credits: 16

BCRPA Approved Osteofit Instructor Training
The Osteofit manual, instructor training curriculum, and program of exercises are based on the latest research and have been developed in consultation with osteoporosis clinical specialists from BC Women’s Osteoporosis Program.
The BC Women’s Osteofit Instructor Training Course is presented over a 2 day period. After completing day 1, the instructor will have learned about osteoporosis, various therapies and challenges facing the person with this serious condition, and how to adapt their classes/weight training sessions so that they are safe yet effective. On day 2, the instructor will gain theoretical and practical knowledge to deliver the BC Women’s Osteofit Program.
