Located
at 950 West 41st Avenue, the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver
offers exceptional cultural, educational, recreational and social programs
and services. It is the home of various leading Jewish organizations,
including the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver. Over generations,
thousands of members, volunteers and donors have made the JCCGV what it
is today. The JCCGV is a gathering place that reflects and accommodates
the diverse needs of Vancouver-area Jews. No wonder the JCCGV is simply
referred to as the "Centre"; it is truly at the heart of our
community.

JEWISH JOURNEYS
MESSAGE FROM
THE PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends
The JCC of Greater Vancouver joins the city of Vancouver in welcoming the world for to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. We celebrate sport, its power to connect, the beauty and grace, and the competitions between nations.
Our JCC tries to provide an environment where everyone can learn, and practice the skills needed to participate in not only sport, but life. The Winter Program Guide cover features Jori Fisher, an active participant at the JCC, who was the inspiration for us to have an Olympic theme. Jori, a huge sports fan, felt it was important for us to send a message of welcome. So with Jori, we warmly welcome you to the JCC.
At this year’s Annual General Meeting, typically a celebration of the Centre, we talked about some of the challenges we’ve faced due to the significant change in the economic climate. In spite of significant losses in our endowment funds, and a decrease in our fundraising revenue, we maintained business as usual. Thousands of visitors and participants of our programs were able to continue on with their activities here, unaware of the internal hardships our staff had to overcome. We want to take this opportunity to humbly thank our very professional hard working staff; who, day in and day out, bring their vibrant and enthusiastic spirit to the JCC. Our community is so lucky to have such a dedicated work force.
