ABOUT THE NRT
The Norman Rothstein Theatre is a fully equipped 318-seat performance venue. The Theatre features a complete sound and lighting system, an acoustic shell, a full-size movie screen and commercial projector, dance floor and a grand piano. Located in the heart of the beautiful Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, the facility is wheelchair accessible, air-conditioned and has onsite parking available. The Norman Rothstein Theatre is committed to the support of live performance, the development of new audiences and the extension of community that art creates.

The theatre was created to enhance the cultural life of both the Jewish and General Communities. We are committed to presenting, producing and promoting professional and innovative community-based programming that:

• entertains, inspires, educates and enriches its audiences
• promotes communication and understanding between Jewish and non-Jewish communities

The Norman Rothstein Theatre is available for single day or multi-week long rentals. We are happy to offer discounted rental rates for non-profit organizations.

STAFF
The Norman Rothstein Theatre is pleased to provide professional and knowledgeable staff for your events.

Artistic Director Mary-Louise Albert brings together her history as a professional dancer, her education in Business and her commitment to the Jewish and Artistic community to the programming and integrity of the Norman Rothstein Theatre and Chutzpah! The Lisa Nemetz Showcase of Jewish Performing Arts Festival.

The Norman Rothstein Theatre Rentals Coordinator acts as a liaison between the rental client, the JCCGV, the Technical Director at the initial stages and the Front of House and will assist you in any way she can from your initial questions before you book right through until your final invoice has been paid.

The Norman Rothstein Theatre's Technical Director is available for consultation before your event to make arrangements for your technical needs. He will assist you in scheduling your load-in and strike days and can give you an estimate on your labour and equipment costs.

The Norman Rothstein Theatre uses a regular roster of skilled and experienced Technicians who will be working with you during your event. The NRT is happy to include a Technician for 4 hours per day in your contract.

There will be a Front of House Manager available during your event to assist with any audience concerns or questions and will generally help in any way they can. The NRT is happy to include the House Manager for 4 hours per day in your contract.

BOX OFFICE
Although the NRT does not operate an official Box Office, we can offer our clients the opportunity to sell tickets at the JCCGV front Reception desk. The JCCGV Reception has extended hours and users of the facility are comfortable with purchasing tickets to NRT events there. They can take payments in cash, debit, credit card or cheque.

LOBBY
The Norman Rothstein Theatre lobby is an intimate gathering place adorned with original art that is a welcoming environment for your audience. The JCCGV in-house café Nava Creative Cuisine can be open during intermission or cater any pre or post-show receptions.

INSURANCE
A Certificate of Insurance must be provided to the NRT in advance of the event. This should include a minimum of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) inclusive limit bodily injury/property damage. If you do not have coverage we can provide an insurance Plan in conjunctions with Speirs & Co. Limited Insurance Brokers for the low rate of $65 + GST per day.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY is to the rear of the house via the east entrance to the building or the stage via the loading ramp. Washrooms are accessible but are located in other parts of the building. Dressing rooms are not wheelchair accessible.

PARKING
Paid parking is available in the lot to the east of the building ($3 per 3 hours). The lot is well lit and has 200 spaces plus 6 reserved for handicap use. There is limited street parking on 41st Avenue. A limited number of parking passes are available to show related vehicles.

DEPOSITS
A a 50% deposit of the Basic Rent is due at the time of booking (see above) and the balance is due two weeks prior to the event.

CANCELLATION
If notice is given, in writing, no less than 180 days before the contracted date(s), the deposit, with the exception of $ 100 non-refundable administration fee will be returned. If a 180 day notice of cancellation has not been received then the said deposit in advance shall be forfeited and the User Group will remain liable for the remainder of the Basic Rent.
